Seeing the Light
Tomorrow sees the opening of a wonderful new exhibition at Turner’s House. For the first time, the general public can fully experience the profound impact that Turner’s time in Italy in 1819 had on this much-loved ‘painter of light’.
Entitled ‘SEEING THE LIGHT’, the exhibition brings together sketches, watercolours and personal artefacts from his Italian travels, that have never before been seen together in public.
Creating the promotional material for ‘SEEING THE LIGHT’ was a particularly inspiring experience for us.
Turner intuitively saw light as sacred. Hence the design idea… placing a self-portrait of Turner beneath his painting of the Roman Campagna, where the setting sun suggests a third eye.
Once established, this design was relatively simple to then apply to a full range of online and offline promotional material, including posters, ads, banners, website and social media.
All the works are on loan from major institutions and a private collection.
‘SEEING THE LIGHT’ runs till October 29th. So if you’re in the South-West London area, why not pay a visit?
