The Adventure Continues…
So what do you think might be the common thread between these much-loved British sitcoms: Dad’s Army, Rising Damp, (Whatever happened to) the Likely Lads, The Good Life, Up Pompeii and Porridge?
It’s a single person…
Actor, director and writer, Robert Gillespie
Working across many different genres, his story is one worth telling. And tonight sees the book launch of the second part of his autobiography, “Are You Going to do That Little Jump? – the Adventure Continues”, recounting his 70 plus years in theatre, film and TV sitcom.
Why do I mention this?
For me personally, this has been an incredibly interesting project, bringing Robert’s story to life on the printed page with words and images from a vast archive of visual material. The process of capturing, organising, arranging and editing has been a joy… and has resulted in a 260-page colour illustrated book.
If you would like to know more about tonight’s launch, the project, or indeed about Robert himself please visit his new website.
